AGC of Iowa Member of the Year to Steve Jackson

Date Published: Saturday, January 17, 2004

The Associated General Contractors of Iowa named Steve Jackson as the association's 2003 Member of the Year.  President Mike Mannatt presented the award on January 16 at the 2004 state convention held at the Airport Holiday Inn in Des Moines.  This recognition comes from the state of Iowa's largest highway construction association, now celebrating its 80th year of service to Iowa contractors.  Steve was selected by the association's executive committee as its Member of the Year in recognition of his exemplary record of past service to the AGC of Iowa, including serving as the association's president in 1990 and most recently, for his seven years of leadership service as Chair of the AGC of Iowa Business Practices Committee.  The Business Practices Committee is widely thought of as one of AGC's most respected and influential committees in that its members meet regularly with the Director of the Iowa Department of Transportation and the DOT senior management team to cooperatively resolve industry issues.  Service on the AGC Business Practices Committee is by invitation only and is restricted to principals of the industry's largest contracting operations.

AGC of Iowa is the fifth largest chapter of AGC of America and represents nearly 400 firms engaged in the Iowa highway and bridge construction industry.  A record 701 individuals were in attendance to see Steve receive this award!
