CVC Lands One in Nebraska and High Fives it in Iowa

Date Published: Saturday, April 15, 2017

For the second year in a row CVC has garnered a Nebraska Concrete Paving Association Paving award.  Our Offutt Air Force Base project won the state wide contest in the High Traffic Airports category.

Cedar Valley also continued its winning ways at the 52nf Annual Iowa Concrete Paving (ICPA) Workshop held in February.  Our paving crews garnered five more “Blue Ribbon” awards for building the “BEST” Portland concrete pavement projects in 2015.  The assembled crowd of over 600 attendees seemingly sat stunned as CVC ripped off five wins in the first six announced categories.  CVC’s winning projects were in the Interstate category for Interstate 280 in Scott County, in the PCC Overlays-Primary for Highway 71 in Clay County, in the Divided Highways category for Highway 30 in Linn county, in PCC Overlays-Secondary system for Sac County, and finally in the New County Roads category for Sioux County.

We celebrated our wins during our Kick-Off meeting held on March 28th.  Each 2015 Cedar Valley employee received a new work jacket in gratitude for a job well done.

All six projects are eligible for ACPA national awards.  CVC has established a tradition of excellence, thanks to the collective work of many.  Over the past twelve years, CVC has won fifty state quality awards and twenty-eight ACPA Excellence in Concrete Pavement Awards. The challenge is on to maintain our award winning streak in 2016.
